Life Force Smoothie Recipe

The month of January has been a time of hibernation for me. I spent a lot of time decluttering and making healthy, detoxifying recipes. Lately I’ve been craving fresh Asian flavours, and this month I tried making garlic chilli noodles with bok choy, Bonne Appetit‘s Korean tofu stew and brown rice with kimchi and marinated tofu.

I’ve also been drawn to exotic, brightly hued foods, like Ube (purple yam), which I enjoyed in a pastry from the Vancouver-based Philipino cafe Liberte Cafe, and dragon fruit, which I added to this Life Force smoothie I invented.

With just a few ingredients, the smoothie is quick and easy to make. The vitamin C in the fruits help boost immunity, the protein in the milk and yogourt keep you satiated and the bright pink colour is a definite mood-booster on a dreary day.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

1 banana

1/2 cup President’s Choice frozen dragon fruit, passion fruit and pineapple mix

3/4 cup almond milk or other milk

1/4 cup yogourt

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into a large glass and enjoy!
