Why you should fail more in 2024

This is your sign to fail more in 2024. 💛

You read that right: by taking imperfect action, which can be sometimes be messy, stressy, and downright embarrassing, we learn what does and doesn’t work.

Recently I watched a YouTube video where @spanx founder Sarah Blakely shared that she held Oops Meetings where staff ‘bragged’ about their failures. Instead of shaming staff for mistakes, she encouraged their outside-the-box ideas and creative attempts that sometimes fell flat.

By embracing failure, we build confidence and empower ourselves to keep taking steps forward, making tweaks, and trying new things until we’ve crafted something – a career, a relationship, a work of art – we’re happy with.

There have been many times in my life when I’ve been stuck, paralyzed by fear of making the wrong decision. But over the years I’ve learned that action, no matter how small, is often what provides the feedback I need to get clear on the next right move.

I’m curious: have you experienced a failure that you pushed through and learned from on the path to success in a particular area of your life?
